CAF Venturesome is an award-winning and pioneering social investment fund manager.
As the social investment arm of the Charities Aid Foundation (CAF), CAF Venturesome provides bridging finance and development capital to charities and social enterprises, and works to help build an effective and responsible social investment market. Since its launch in 2002, CAF Venturesome has provided over £30m worth of debt, equity and quasi-equity products to 360 charities and social enterprises. CAF Venturesome currently manages £13m on behalf of a range of individual and institutional philanthropic investors.
CAF Venturesome is actively raising additional capital, growing its loan funds and developing innovative ways of financing charities and social enterprises. This is an exciting opportunity for a Investment Executive to join this dynamic and high impact team.
As a member of CAF Venturesome’s team you will identify, assess and deliver investment opportunities, monitor the loan portfolio and market Venturesome’s services. You will also work with the portfolio to ensure they continue to deliver results and social impact. You will also contribute to Venturesome’s policy and advocacy work in building the social investment market.
With either a successful track record in a finance/business environment or the charitable sector itself, you will have a passion for combining financial skills with making a difference in the social sector. You will be highly numerate, have an entrepreneurial approach and strong practical experience of assessing financial data and risk, making decisive assessments from a mix of oral and written information. You will have an understanding of and empathy with charities and social enterprises and the broad environment in which they operate. You should have at least two years’ work experience.
Working closely with charities at a grassroots level, you will be a confident communicator, be self-motivated and passionate about the need for social investment in civil society. You will be required to respond quickly to complex, and at times competing, demands. This is an exciting time to join a dynamic and growing team, and your skills and experience will directly contribute to the organisation’s success. This opportunity offers great personal and professional development for a candidate looking to forge a career in the social investment market.
