Cwm Trannon wins award for best village shop!

Cwm Trannon has been announced as the winner of the 2011 Countryside Alliance Award for ‘best village shop and post office’ in Wales.

Based between the villages of Trefeglwys and Llawr-y-glyn in rural Wales, Cwn Trannon operates a village shop, post office, coffee shop, florist and community facilities. In February 2011, CAF Venturesome provided Cwn Trannon with a loan of £80,000 to help acquire and refurbish the shop.

The Countryside Alliance Awards, nicknamed the ‘Rural Oscars’, are now in their seventh year of celebrating the characters, skills, traditions and enterprise of the countryside. Cwn Trannon will now go forward to the UK Parliamentary Grand Final to be held at Westminster in March.
