  • Have you seen one of the Venturesome team?

The Venturesome team were out in force last week, attending both the Good Deals and NCVO Sustainable Funding conferences.

At the Good Deals conference Dharisha and Isabel manned our stand in the Marketplace (see pic!), whilst the Head of Venturesome Paul Cheng chaired a panel discussion on what social investors are looking for in their investees.

One of the day’s highlights was an interview with Muhammed Yunus, who talked about social businesses using the example of Grameen Danone Foods Ltd – a joint venture that produces a nutrient enriched yoghurt for distribution to children across Bangladesh, at a price that even the poorest can afford.

Meanwhile, Casey Lord represented us at the NCVO conference, which was focussing on the value of forging new funding relationships across a range of different income streams. Casey ran an interactive session on complex investment models, which stimulated thought provoking discussion and innovative thinking amongst the attendees.

And tomorrow we’ll be at the launch of the Social Impact Analyst Association – we’re looking forward to spending the day discussing the key issues in impact measurement and strategies to address them. If you see one of us there, come and say hi!
