European Investment Fund Confirms €50m Fund

Exciting news from the EU! The European Investment Fund has confirmed the launch of a €50m social investment fund early in 2012.

The fund will make investments in a similar way to Big Society Capital - investing in social investment intermediaries who will then invest in social enterprises.  Whilst the goal will not be to maximise profits, we understand that the fund will seek to make a financial return. 

A panel of social investment experts from across Europe will be advising the fund on its social investment strategy.
